JCI Closes Green on Tuesday's 1st Session; Rp4.1 T Stock Traded

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) closed the first trading session in the green zone at the level of 6,919.7 (+0.28%) on Tuesday, February 14. This closing was higher compared to Monday, February 13, which was at 6,900.1.

"At the end of today's first trading session, 245 stocks strengthened, while 241 weakened, and 205 stagnated, with a transaction value of Rp 4.1 trillion, trading frequency of 682,901 times, and trading volume of 115.9 million lots," the Samuel Sekuritas report stated on February 14.

The Samuel Sekuritas team sees that the market started this week fairly well amidst the wait for the release of US inflation data on Tuesday local time, which will provide a bit of an overview of US economic policy going forward.

US stocks closed higher on Monday, February 13: DJIA +1.11%, S&P500 +1.14%, and Nasdaq +1.48% while Asian stocks tend to move higher; at the end of the first session today, the Nikkei was observed gaining +0.64 percent, as well as the Kospi (+0.9 percent) and Hang Seng (+0.22 percent), while STI (-0.22 percent) and Shanghai (-0 .03 percent) weakened.

Shares of online-to-offline e-commerce issuer PT Kioson Komersial Indonesia (KIOS) were the most actively traded shares in the first session of the day, with a transaction frequency of 41,219 times, followed by BSBK (34,302) and GOTO (20,129).

In terms of volume, shares of technology issuer GoTo Gojek Tokopedia (GOTO) were the most traded in the first session of the day, with volume reaching 23.1 million lots, followed by BSBK (9.9 million) and BUMI (6.8 million).

The health sector index (IDXHEALTH) became the sectoral index that rose the most in the first session of the day (+1.46 percent), The second position was filled with the transportation sector index (IDXTRANS) (+1.2 percent), followed by the energy sector index (IDXENERGY) (+1.1 percent).

Here are the top five top gainers in the first trading session today:

  • FMII (+22.2 percent to IDR 384 per share)
  • MEDS (+16.8 percent to IDR 173 per share)
  • KIOSKS (+14.7 percent to IDR 101 per share)
  • IPPE (+14 percent to IDR 57 per share)
  • NICL (+9.4 percent to IDR 300 per share)
