TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian Investment Minister Bahlil Lahadalia announced that the value of actualized investment stood at Rp314.8 trillion in the fourth quarter of 2022. This is a 2.3-percent quarterly increase and a jump by 30.3 percent, year on year (yoy).

"The investments resulted in the employment of 339,879 workers, the highest in Indonesia's history," Bahlil, who is also the head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM), said in a press conference on Tuesday, January 24.

In the quarter, domestic investment reached Rp139.6 trillion, accounting for 44.4 percent of all investment realization in the fourth quarter. The figure is higher by 0.5 percent on a quarterly basis and up by 17.0 percent year-on-year.

Meanwhile, foreign investments amounted to Rp175.2 trillion or 55.6 percent of the period's total, increasing by 3.7 percent from the previous quarter and growing by 43.3 percent (yoy).

The volume of actualized investments outside the island of Java accounted for 52.2 percent with Rp164.2 trillion. In Java, the investment realization reached Rp150.6 trillion or 47.8 percent.

Five sectors that contributed the most to Q4 investments were mining investments with Rp39.8 trillion; basic metal, metal goods and equipment industry with Rp39.4 trillion; transportation, warehouse and telecommunication industry with Rp36.8 trillion; chemical and pharmaceutical industries with Rp33.5 trillion, and housing, industrial and office space with Rp28.9 trillion.
