TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - State Secretary Minister Pratikno dismissed the issue that President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo will reshuffle his Indonesia Onward Cabinet on February 1, 2023.

“No talks about the reshuffle. Nothing,” Pratikno told reporters at the Jakarta Presidential Palace, on Monday, January 16, 2023, after the first plenary cabinet session in 2023 chaired by the President.

He claimed that the President actually expressed appreciation for the good performance of the cabinet throughout 2022. “The performance is good, and the evaluation for 2022 is also very good. The President talked a lot about many positive achievements in the difficult times,” he recalled.

Meanwhile, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung chose to dodge the issue with jokes. “I don't know if something has leaked. I keep what’s not leaked,” he said at the Jakarta Presidential Palace, on Monday.

The signal for the cabinet reshuffle re-emerged earlier this year as the state head deliberately gave a vague answer when asked about the issue during a working visit to Riau on January 5, 2023. “Tomorrow. It could be Friday, could be Monday, could be Tuesday, could be Wednesday,” he said to reporters.

The vague answer was given only two days after another hanging statement that was made at Jakarta’s Tanah Abang Market, on January 2, 2023. “Yes, just wait,” he shortly said.

Jokowi’s Onward Cabinet for the 2019-2024 period had previously undergone three reshuffles; on December 23, 2020, April 28, 2021, and June 15, 2022.
