TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Jakarta Provincial Government is fast-tracking the provision of the fourth dose of Covid-19 vaccines for senior citizens and health workers. The second booster roll-out is aimed at curbing the rate of infection, especially among people with co-morbidities.
"Almost all Covid-19 patients in Jakarta who died had severe comorbidities, most of which were non-communicable diseases," Jakarta Health Office's head of Surveillance, Epidemiology and Immunization Division Ngabila Salama said in Jakarta, Thursday, December 8.
The non-infectious comorbidities include diabetes mellitus, hypertension, heart disease, cancer, chronic kidney failure, and comorbid chronic diseases including tuberculosis (TB) and HIV.
According to the Health Ministry's data, as of 17:20 on December 6, over 12.6 million Jakarta residents, or 134.58 percent of the population, have received the first dose of Covid vaccines. For the second dose, the coverage is over 10.9 million people or 116.24 percent, the third dose is 5.24 million or 55.95 percent, and the fourth dose is 119.888 or 13.72 percent.
For the elderly population, the coverage of four doses has only reached 6.1 percent of the targeted 761,279. For health workers, it is 66.02 percent of the targeted 112,301 personnel.

Second Boosters 6 Months after Third Dose
Any elderly person in Jakarta is allowed to get a fourth vaccine jab as long as their third shot was taken over six months prior—even though they don’t have their tickets shown in the PeduliLindungi app.
The Jakarta Health Office is accepting people to get their vaccines in the afternoons and evenings, in order to fast-track the overall number of third and fourth doses, focusing the target on elderly citizens and health workers.
Covid-19 vaccinations are available from Monday to Friday between 16:00 and 20:00 in 44 district health centers (puskesmas) throughout Jakarta or other provided locations.
The Jakarta Health Office provides information about evening-time vaccination services through its social media accounts, including its own Instagram account @dinkesdki and the Instagram accounts of puskesmas and hospitals.
Weekend vaccinations are also available in several Puskesmas, general hospitals, and other vaccination centers. The night-time vaccine rollout is targeting people who have not received the jabs, which are the first and second doses for children and teenagers between the ages of 6 and 18, and the third doses for people over the age of 18.
