TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Grab Indonesia provided relief of Rp2 billion for the victims of the Cianjur earthquake in West Java. The aid consists of Rp1 billion in cash, thousands of voucher codes for ordering Grab services, free ride and delivery fees for volunteers, assigning three units of automobiles as operational vehicles, and setting up a post for additional public kitchens.
"Grab Indonesia and OVO are deeply saddened by the tragedy that has befallen Cianjur Regency. This humanitarian solidarity is a form of empathy and a helping hand to the victims, including our driver partners and merchants," said Grab Indonesia Country Managing Director Neneng Goenadi in a written statement on Friday, December 2.
Her side believes that by joining hands, the situation will improve little by little. "We all also hope that our brothers and sisters in Cianjur will continue to be given strength and health in facing this difficult time," she said.
Grab provides free services using GrabCar and GrabBike to facilitate the mobilization of volunteers in the location of the earthquake to several important posts. Grab also waives delivery fees for GrabExpress and GrabFood services using the "PEDULICIANJUR" voucher.
The Cianjur earthquake occurred on Monday, November 21, with a magnitude of 5.6. As of Thursday, December 1, the Regent of Cianjur Herman Suherman said the number of casualties has reached about 329 people. About 11 people are still missing with the search continuing.
