TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency’s (BMKG) weather forecast noted that rain accompanied by lightning and strong winds will likely hit Jakarta Greater Area or Jabodetabek (Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi) today, December 2, 2022.

Light-intensity rain was expected to wet South Jakarta and East Jakarta this afternoon, while West Jakarta, Central Jakarta, and North Jakarta will see cloudy weather. At night, the five cities’ weather will be partly sunny and cloudy.

Rain showered the capital yesterday, resulting in floods in a number of roads and neighborhood units (RT) in West Jakarta and South Jakarta.

As for Jakarta’s neighboring regions, there is also rain potential in parts of Bogor City, Depok, and Bekasi this afternoon.

“Be aware of the potential for rain which can be accompanied by lightning or thunder and strong winds between noon or evening until late at night,” the agency issued an early warning published on its official website, Friday, December 2, 2022.

The BMKG also reported that moderate to heavy-intensity rain is likely to wet southern Tangerang today.
