TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The development process of the Sepaku Ring Road segment I, the national road serving as the main access to Indonesia's new capital city, IKN Nusantara, is almost completed. Right now, the average physical progress has reached 77 percent.

Basuki Hadimuljono, Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR), said that development in IKN Nusantara, East Kalimantan, has entered the land development phase. Therefore, road construction has started. Work on basic infrastructure will continue into the construction of toll roads.

"After mapping the land, the government will start the construction of basic infrastructure such as toll roads and national roads which are the main access to IKN Nusantara," Basuki said in a written statement, Wednesday, August 24.

The Sepaku ring road project is allocated a state budget consisting of three packages with a total value of Rp103.772 billion.

Junaidi, head of the East Kalimantan National Road Implementation Center (BBPJN), said the total length of the road financed through the State Budget was about 2.91 kilometers.

The project is carried out under a multi-year contract (MYC) scheme. The first segment is undertaken by PT Prampus Inti Puspita with a contract value of Rp46.69 billion. The second segment of the road construction is handled by PT Duta Mega Perkasa worth Rp48.02 billion, and the third segment by PT Cipta Artha Borneo with a budget of Rp44.8 billion.
