TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Trade Minister Zulkifli Hasan said that CPO's export approval (PE)/goods export notice (PEB) quota through the SIMIRAH Domestic Market Obligation (DMO) scheme 1 has reached 65.91 percent as of 4 July.

This means that 885,500 tons of CPO have been exported via the SIMIRAH DMO scheme 1. There are 434,067 tons left to go. To date, 36 out of 842 companies with PE and/or PEB have exported CPO using the scheme.

"We have only approved 65 percent because some are not shipped yet, as the ships were on a break during the CPO export ban", Zulkifli said when visiting Pasar Jaya Ciracas on Tuesday, 5 July.

Meanwhile, as of July 4 the actual export quota under the Flush Out scheme has reached 49.51 percent or 645,327 tons, with 447,563 tons remaining. There are currently 39 companies with goods export notice or PEB that have exported CPO using the flush out scheme.

"We hope that exports will be smooth so that palm oil mills can empty their tanks and buy fresh fruit bunches (FFB) from independent palm farmers," he said.

The Trade Minister hopes that this smooth export will affect the price of FFB by Rp2,000 to Rp3,000 per kilogram.

The minister added that the average price of bulk cooking oil in Java, Bali, and Sumatra has dropped to around Rp14,000 per liter. However, prices in Papua and Maluku were still high at around Rp20,000, due to logistical issues.
