TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Gojek in tandem with PT Kereta Commuter Indonesia (KCI) presented GoTransit which facilitates users to tap in and out at the Commuter Line of KRL stations without a card. This integrated innovation was introduced on Wednesday, June 22, 2022.

GoTransit was initially launched in November 2021 yet only provided schedules of KRL and other transportation modes in Jakarta Greater Area or Jabodetabek.

Head of Indonesia Sales and Ops at Gojek Catherine Hindra Sutjahyo explained that commuters can purchase a train ticket via the feature on Gojek’s app and get a QR code to be scanned at stations.

Other than providing extra user convenience and increasing user loyalty, this innovation is expected to attract public interest in using public transportation, especially Commuter Line.

“Since its launch at the end of May 2022, the access to GoTransit increased 20 times,” said Catherine, as quoted from Bisnis.com on Wednesday, June 22, 2022.

President Director of KAI Commuter Roppiq Lutzfi Azhar, meanwhile, hoped that this collaboration could help to realize the target of up to two million passengers of KRL per day. To date, the company recorded 1.2 million users per day. “This collaboration [with Gojek] is expected to support KCI in realizing its target of transporting 2 million people per day in the future,” he said.
