Sri Mulyani Emphasizes Digital Financial Literacy Among Youths

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Finance Minister Sri Mulyani in a seminar in Bali on Wednesday emphasized the importance of digital finance literacy among the public, especially among women and the younger generation. Discussions about multi-sector digitalization will take the stage at the G20 summit in Bali on November 15-16.
“Digital education is important, especially for women and young people in general. Digitalization and finance, especially amidst the era of a plethora of online lending services,” said Mulyani in Badung, Bali on May 11, Antaranews reported.
Ahead of the G20 presidency in Indonesia, Bank Indonesia (BI) held an international seminar on transformation for financial inclusion of women, youth, and MSMEs at Nusa Dua, Bali. This event was also attended by BI governor Perry Warjiyo.
Apart from seminars, the three-day event in Bali will also see G20 delegation representatives visit a number of MSMEs on the island.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Fiscal Policy Agency of the Ministry of Finance, Febrio N Kacaribu said, the economic crisis due to the COVID-19 pandemic was uneven until now, and many countries have not recovered from economic problems, including Indonesia.
For this reason, the concept of digitalization is expected to be able to assist and support economic recovery, especially in the G20 countries.
"In addition, it is no less important that government programs such as people's business loans or KUR to PIP are expected to reach more people, especially women and young people," he said.
