TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Financial Services Authority (OJK) said the risk profile of financial service institutions in February 2022 was maintained with a gross non-performing loan ratio that fell to 3.08 percent. Meanwhile, the NPF ratio of financing companies was stable at 3.25 percent.
"In addition, the Net Open Position (NOP) in February 2022 dropped again to 1.45 percent, far below the regulatory threshold of 20 percent," OJK chief Wimboh Santoso said in a written release from the OJK's Board of Commissioners meeting that was held yesterday, March 30.
The banking sector's liquidity in February 2022 was also at a very adequate level. This is seen in the liquid assets for non-core deposits and third-party funds, which stood at 147.33 percent and 32.72 percent, above their respective thresholds of 50 percent and 10 percent, respectively.
The banking sector also recorded stable capital in February with 25.82 percent. Life and general insurers also recorded improved risk-based capital, each by 535.72 percent and 323.11 percent.
Overall, the OJK noted that the financial services sector is stable and continues to grow, along with the increasing intermediary function in the banking and non-bank sectors, as well as capital market strengthening—supported by solid regulation and supervision by the OJK.
"Additionally, control over the pandemic has increased the socio-economic activities of the community, boosting the growth of the national economy," Wimboh said.
