TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Head of the new capital authority or IKN Nusantara, Bambang Susantono, hoped that the nation’s children, particularly East Kalimantan, can become part of the capital’s organizational structure.

“Not only within the organization but also in various opportunities that will be created by the authority,” said Bambang in Balikpapan, Wednesday, March 16.

He added that the sons and daughters of East Kalimantan could participate in the business sector and others. “It will happen naturally, so they have to be able to participate,” he said.

Bambang also mentioned that the organizational structure will be established in line with the regulation. “The regulations will be drafted first. From that, an organizational structure will be stipulated in the form of a presidential decree or a government regulation,” he explained.

Regulations on the new capital are being worked on and will be implemented by the ministries and institutions including the National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas), the Finance Ministry, and the Home Affairs Ministry.

“They are under the preparation process. Some of them have entered the stage of public testing,” Bambang Susantono said. “I think we want to carry out proper public consultations so that later the regulation can really cover our common needs.”
