TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian government has updated policies regarding international travelers who are either foreign nationals or Indonesians. The Transportation Ministry directorate general of air transportation said one of it is the reduction of covid travel quarantine days.

The director general, Novie Riyanto, on Sunday said the travel adjustment policy is mentioned in the Circular No.20/2022 on the follow-up from another circular issued by the Covid-19 task force.

The following are the changes imposed:

- Quarantine period for overseas travelers who have received the first dose vaccine is set at 7 days while those who have received two doses, or complete vaccinations, are slashed to 3 days.

- International travelers must show immigration officials proof of accommodation booking during their stay in Indonesia.

- Foreign nationals are required to attach a short visit visa or other visitation permits under Indonesian law. They must also show proof of having health insurance at a minimum of USD25 thousand.

- International travelers are required to undergo PCR tests and report the results to immigration officers in areas they arrive at. Those undergoing 7-day quarantine should test on the sixth day while the 3-day quarantine should take the tests on the third day.

- Those arriving from overseas are permitted to enter Indonesia from the following airports; Soekarno Hatta Banten, Juanda Sidoarjo, I Gusti Ngurah Rai Bali, Hang Nadim Batam, Raja Haji Fisabilillah Tanjung Pinang, Sam Ratulangi Manado and Zainuddin Abdul Madjid, West Nusa Tenggara (bubble system).

Novie said the new regulation provides exceptions to Indonesians arriving from overseas under emergency situations related to their health, the health of their own relatives, or attending a family’s burial.
