TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Pollster Indikator Politik Indonesia announced its recent online survey on the public's approval for the leadership of President Joko Widodo, or Jokowi, into 2022. The survey sees more than half of respondents claiming to be quite satisfied by the President’s performance.

The online survey with a 4 percent margin of error was held from January 15 up to February 17, 2022, through random sample recruitment, screening process, and web interviewing. It targets Indonesians aged 17 and people who are married and have internet access via smartphone.

“Those who are satisfied and extremely satisfied if combined amount to 71 percent while those who are not are 25 percent combined,” said Muhtadi in an online press conference on Sunday, February 20.

Based on respondent’s gender, he said most of the people content with Jokowi’s leadership are 75 percent women.

The pollster also broke down the data thoroughly and classified respondents based on ethnicity and religion with Madura topping the list of respondents content by the President’s performance with 92.2 percent and followed by Batak (84.7 percent), Melayu (77.8 percent), and Javanese (76.9 percent).

Muhtadi claims the online survey is inline with an earlier survey conducted offline which saw 71.4 percent respondents - who were interviewed in person - claim to be quite satisfied and satisfied with Jokowi’s work to date.
