Omicron Cases in Jakarta Rises by 90 to 252: Deputy Gov

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta recorded 90 new Omicron cases today, January 4. Deputy Governor Ahmad Riza Patria said the total number of the COVID-19 new variant cases thus amounted to 252.
“There are 239 imported cases and 13 cases of local transmissions,” said Riza at City Hall, Jakarta, Tuesday.
He explained that all patients infected with the variant of concern are undergoing isolation at Wisma Atlet quarantine center, Central Jakarta and Sulianti Saroso Hospital or RSPI, North Jakarta. Most of the patients are international travelers.
The Gerindra Party politician thus reminded Jakarta residents who are traveling abroad to stick to the predetermined health protocols against COVID-19 in an effort to prevent exposure to the new coronavirus variant and transmit it to others when returning to the capital.
“So people who are still abroad are asked to pay attention to this,” Riza remarked.
Riza also confirmed that there is no patient died from the Omicron variant to date.
