TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Traffic Police Director Sr. Comr. Sambodo Purnomo Yogo revealed the evaluation results of Transjakarta services following a recent series of bus accidents.

Sambodo explained there were 14 accidents involving the city bus in the past two months and that most of them were caused by human error. “There is really something that must be improved,” he said on Thursday, December 9.

The results of the evaluation were published by Sambodo before reporters at the Jakarta Police HQ after meeting with the city-owned bus operator Transjakarta President Director Mochamad Yana Aditya at the Jakarta Police’s Traffic Directorate Building today at around 1 p.m.

To Yana Aditya, Sambodo submitted the traffic directorate’s records about the bus accidents. Transjakarta management was asked to make a number of improvements.

“Because accidents caused by human error are still quite large in number,” he added.

Sambodo also mentioned the recent accidents of the Transjakarta Bus at the crowded area near PGC in Cililitan of East Jakarta, which he considered odd. “How could it (the bus) suddenly hit [a police post],” he said.
