TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta-owned bus operator PT Transjakarta cut short its bus operating hours from 5 a.m.-12 a.m. to 5 a.m.-10.30 p.m. Corporate secretary Angelina Betris confirmed that the policy would take effect starting today, December 6.

“This adjustment of the service time will take effect on Monday,” said Betris in a written statement on Sunday night.

She explained the adjustment was made as Jakarta tightened its COVID-19 curb status to PPKM Level 2. Transjakarta would also facilitate night bus transport.

The number of passengers, however, was not limited and remained at 100 percent of the total capacity during the PPKM Level 2 period, which would last until December 13.

This provision would be applied to all bus routes of corridor 1-13, “under strict health protocols,” Betris added.

The policy on the new Transjakarta bus operating hours was a follow-up to Gubernatorial Decree No. 1421 of 2021 concerning the enforcement of the community activity restrictions or PPKM Level 2 and the Jakarta Transportation Agency Head’s Decree (SK) No. 485 of 2021 on the technical instructions for transportation capacity and operating hours during PPKM Level 2.
