TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia has just received a shipment of 5.5 million doses of AstraZeneca and Covovax vaccines on Thursday, December 2.
The Communication and Informatics Ministry Director General of Information and Communication, Usman Kansong, said the shipment mostly contained Covovax with 4,865,000 doses last night at 22:40 Western Indonesia Time (WIB) while the shipment of 656,000 AstraZeneca doses arrived at 22:10 WIB.
He said these additional doses would boost the national vaccination program and showed the government’s commitment to securing vaccine supplies to inoculate most of the Indonesian population against COVID-19.
Usman called on members of the public to constantly obey existing health protocols from mandatory face masks, washing hands, maintaining physical distances, avoiding crowds, and restricting mobility.
