Yogyakarta to Vaccinate Tourists in Malioboro on the Spot

TEMPO.CO, Yogyakarta - Yogyakarta Covid-19 Task Force is conducting a random vaccination card checking to the people roaming around the famous tourist area in the city, Malioboro.

"If there are tourist who are yet to be vaccinated, they will immediately receive one on site," said the Chief of the city Covid-19 Task Force Heroe Poerwadi on Monday, October 25. He said that the officers will guide them to the nearest vaccination cars which are on standby around Malioboro.

Heroe who also serve as the Vice Mayor of Yogyakarta stated that the vaccination cars are readied at the parking lot of the former Malioboro Mutiara Hotel which also functioned as Covid-19 vaccination post. The city government along with the military (TNI) and Police aimed to randomly vaccinate around a hundred visitors every day.

The tourists, from any regions, will only need to show their ID card (KTP) to get the Covid shot.

Heroe explained that the targets of this vaccinations are tourists and traders around Malioboro area. The officers will conduct the random vaccination card checking at 10:00 to 12:00 a.m. local time, especially on Saturday when the area will be crowded with visitors.
