TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Metro Tanah Abang Police on Monday arrested an exhibitionist who was recorded by his victim conducting lewd act nearby Central Jakarta’s Sudirman Station. Police identified the suspect as WYS (27) after his act went viral in social media.

“We secured him yesterday evening around the Karet area,” said the police sector’s chief Adj. Comm. Haris on October 25.

At the time of his capture, the suspect denied being the subject in the viral video but eventually confessed and claimed it was his first time doing so. He also claims he was inspired by his friend who also committed the same act.

“He confessed to merely following what his friend often does. He often sees his friend do that but not at the same location,” said the police chief.

The exhibitionist’s act went viral where he showed his private parts to a female passerby at the sidewalk area near the Sudirman Station. The victim recorded the incident and uploaded it to TikTok on Thursday, October 21.
