TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Former employees of The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) submitted an administrative letter of appeal to President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo on Thursday, October 21, 2021. The 15-pages long letter contains the basis of administrative appeal, the reasons for the appeal and the application, possible consequences if an appeal is not carried out, and the main arguments of the appeal. The letter was signed by 58 former KPK employees.

Inside the letter, KPK employees who were fired because of failing the civic knowledge test (TWK), plead to the President to overturn the KPK leader decision.

"Cancelling the decision of KPK leader regarding the honorable discharge of 57 KPK employee on our behalf, where there is absolutely no article in Law No. 19 of 2019 concerning The Second Amendment to Law No. 30 of 2002 concerning Corruption Eradication Commission, and Law No. 5 of 2014 concerning State Civil Apparatus (ASN) which requires the dismissal of KPK employees based on the result of TWK test," part of the statement in the letter reads.

Former employees of the KPK also plead to Jokowi to restore the rights and names of those who were claimed to be ineligible to be admitted as civil servants. In fact, the addition of TWK was made based on maladministration and is in violation of human rights according to the finding and investigation by the Indonesian Ombudsman and National Commission of Human Rights (Komnas HAM).

"Then, take over the process of implementing the status transfer of the 57 KPK employees and assign or appoint 57 employees (who were honorably discharged by KPK leader) to be ASN at KPK in accordance with the recommendation from Indonesian Ombudsman and Komnas HAM," the rest of the letter reads.
