TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Former employee of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Rasamala Aritonang on Thursday said he plans to establish a political party and has even prepared a name for it. He is one of the 57 former employees who were dropped from the anti-graft watchdog in a controversial and widely known civic knowledge test (TWK).

“A political party is a strategic vehicle if we intend to make a big impact,” he said in a statement on Thursday.

He believes there is a huge opportunity to build a Party that is transparent, has integrity, and accountable, which is why he is currently discussing his plan together with people he knows and intends to discuss this matter with a number of public figures.

“We’ll see,” he said. “It is worth the try.”

The former KPK legal bureau employee said he understands that establishing a political party will not be easy and would be challenging, however, he truly believes that this political party can help bring changes for the country and realize a clean and corruption-free Indonesia.

Another former KPK employee, Lakso Anindito said the idea to create the United Liberation Party emerged after they observed that public aspirations often meet dead ends, and believes this alternative can overcome this problem.
