TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian government has officially reduced the length of the quarantine period for international travelers arriving in Indonesia from 8 days to 5 days. This is mentioned in the latest Covid-19 task force circular No.20/2021 on international travel health protocol amidst the pandemic and is effective from Thursday, October 14.

“There are changes in quarantine settings from 8x24 hours into 5x24 hours for everyone traveling,” said the task force head of mitigation Ganip Warsito in a written statement on Thursday, October 14.

There are other additional regulations in the circular subjecting international travelers that include the requirement to hold a complete vaccine dose certificate and at a minimum have been vaccinated 14 days prior to the trip. Declarations must be written in English and native language of the traveler’s citizenship.

Foreign nationals with tourist visas can arrive in Indonesia through the Bali airport and Riau Islands. Among the aforementioned requirements, others include a PCR report valid for three days, travel visa permits for foreigners, must at least have US$100,000 insurance that covers for Covid-19, and accommodation booking proof for their stay in Indonesia.
