Jakarta Logs 143 COVID-19 Cases; Active Cases Drop by 207 Today

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Health Agency's Head of the Disease Prevention and Control Division, Dwi Oktavia, reported that 143 new COVID-19 cases were found in the capital city on Tuesday, October 12, 2021. The figure was obtained from PCR tests carried out on 16,889 specimens over the past 24 hours.
Dwi said that based on the data, the number of daily cases in the city was still fluctuating. Meanwhile, the number of active cases per day decreased by 207 cases. "So the number of active cases to date is 1,257 people who are still being treated or isolated," she said in a written statement on Tuesday, October 12, 2021.
As for the past week, the Health Agency recorded the percentage of positive test results or the positivity rate in the capital hit 0.7 percent. The figure is below the safe recommended standard by WHO at no more than 5 percent.
Since the onset of the pandemic in March 2020, a total of 859,345 COVID-19 cases have been found in Jakarta. Of that number, 844,538 patients have recovered, bringing the recovery rate to 98.3 percent. The virus death toll, meanwhile, reached 13,550 people with a mortality rate of 1.6 percent.
