TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Telecommunication giant Telkom announced that the Java, Sumatra and Kalimantan (Jasuka) submarine cable communication system had been repaired.

Alhamdulillah (Praise to God), the submarine cable has recovered and is serving telecommunication traffic normally,” said the corporate communications VP Pujo Pramono in a written statement, Tuesday, October 6.

Pujo expressed his gratitude for the support of various parties who helped the repairing process and loyal customers of Telkom Group, the telecommunication company under the SOE Ministry.

Telkom would continue to monitor traffic and services to ensure excellent quality of service for customers. “Customer convenience is our priority,” Pujo remarked.

The Jasuka submarine cable communication system has recovered and is back to operating normally since Monday, October 4 at 05:30 Western Indonesian Time (WIB).

Since Sunday, September 19, all Telkom Group services, both fixed broadband including IndiHome and mobile broadband owned by Telkomsel, were disrupted due to technical issues at the Jasuka submarine cable communication system located at 1.5 kilometers off the coast of Batam at the depth of 20 meters below the ocean surface. Telkom predicted the repair process would last about a month.
