TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Covid-19 task force spokesperson Wiku Adisasmito in a virtual press conference on Tuesday announced that the government will once again allow large scale activities such as festivals, concerts, and wedding receptions under health requirements.
“We assert once again that the government will start to approve sector opening permits if the Covid-19 conditions surrounding the event’s area is under control and stakeholders are committed to a thorough preparation before activities reopen,” said Wiku on September 28.
He noted that regions must form a special committee or task force dedicated to health protocol surveillance.
The details of the requirements upon opening public activities are mentioned in the Home Affairs Minister’s Instruction No.43/2021 across Java and Bal, while areas outside of the two islands are overseen underi No.44/2021.
He believes the reopening of large social events is not something that needs to be overly concerned about as long as stakeholders are committed to a collective health protocol standard.
“It is time for us to progress in rejuvenating public productivity after a commendable effort in controlling [the number of Covid-19 cases],” he said.
