TEMPO.CO, Bogor - Bogor Regent Ade Yasin reminded residents to stay vigilant of potential flooding in 18 subdistricts on September 28-29 according to weather forecasts issued by the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG).

“I ask the people of Bogor regency to be aware of natural disasters, such as floods, landslides, and tornadoes,” said Ade Yasin in Cibinong, Bogor, Monday, September 27.

According to her, 18 subdistricts prone to flash floods in the next two days are Klapanunggal, Gunungputri, Cibungbulang, Cibinong, Bojonggede, Kemang, Rancabungur, Dramaga, Sukaraja, Ciampea, Ciomas, Tamansari, Babakan Madang, Ciawi, Citeureup, Cijeruk, Tenjolaya, and Pamijahan.

The BMKG also declared a flood alert status in the 18 subdistricts.

Ade Yasin also appealed to people living in hilly areas and watersheds to be more careful, such as those in Cileungsi, Cikeas, Cidurian, Cibanten, Cisadane, Cibeet, and Ciliwung.

“But don’t panic and remain calm and keep complying with the health protocols because of the COVID-19 pandemic situation,” said Ade Yasin, who is also the head of the Bogor COVID-19 Handling Task Force.

Bogor BMKG Head of Meteorological Station Fatuhri Syabani said that the potential for extreme weather was also predicted to occur in 17 other provinces. “From today’s BMKG release, West Java region is in the alert level of Waspada (caution),” Fatuhri said.
