Over 45 Million Indonesians Got Second Doses of Covid-19 Vaccines

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian Covid-19 Task Force recorded that 45.85 million people have received the second doses of Covid-19 vaccine as of Tuesday, September 21. Over the last day, the number of people who took the second shots increased by 628,383.

Meanwhile, the number of people who received first doses rose by more than 750,000 to 80.40 million people. The Task Force also recorded that there are now 864,324 health workers who received boosters or third doses.

The Indonesian government is targeting to inoculate 208,265,720 of its population in order to achieve herd immunity.

Indonesia had received additional shipments of vaccines. on Sunday, 19 September, the government received 1,140,750 doses from Pfizer. To date, the number of vaccines that have arrived in Indonesia has reached more than 257.35 million doses.

As of Tuesday, September 21, Indonesia's total caseload was 4,195,958 infections with 4,002,706 recoveries. There were 52,444 active cases.

Since it was first detected in the country March 2020, the new coronavirus has taken 140,805 Indonesian lives.
