TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Finance Minister Sri Mulyani stated that she will lead the G20 Summit agenda of the finance track with Bank Indonesia Governor Perry Warjiyo as Indonesia will host the G20 Presidency in 2022.
“Several priority agendas in the finance track meeting will begin to be discussed in December this year,” said Sri on her personal Instagram @smiindrawati on Thursday, September 16.
The discussion includes policy design for economic recovery, post-pandemic effects, central bank digital currency, support for sustainable financing, cross-border payment systems, financial inclusion of the digital sector and MSMEs, as well as international tax agreements.
The former managing director of the World Bank hoped that the G20 Presidency will be beneficial for not only Indonesia but also the world. “Especially to help poor and developing countries,” she added.
The 150 meetings of the G20 Summit will be held from December 1, 2021, until November 30, 2022, by adopting a hybrid method given the COVID-19 pandemic situation. The peak agenda was initially scheduled in Bali.
Sri Mulyani said the G20 plays a real role and initiative in dealing with and overcoming various global issues. The G20 Presidency in 2022 will carry the big theme “Recover Together, Recover Stronger”.
