TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Health Ministry launched a new feature in the COVID-19 surveillance app Pedulilindungi that will integrate COVID-19 vaccination data of people who were vaccinated overseas.

“Indonesian and foreign nationals can access the Pedulilindungi app even though their vaccination certificate is not obtained in Indonesia,” said the ministry’s Digital Transformation Office (DTO) Chief Setiaji in a press conference, Tuesday, September 14.

Setiaji explained Indonesians and foreigners who received vaccinations abroad could use the app by registering on the ministry’s website vaksinln.dto.kemkes.go.id, filling the data, such as name, date of birth, email, and the type of vaccine obtained.

The ministry will then verify the data within three working days, and that the result will be confirmed via email.

To verify foreigners’ vaccination certificates, Setiaji said, the ministry would cooperate with the Foreign Affairs Ministry to coordinate with their respective embassies. After that, users can log in to the app and claim a verified vaccination certificate.

“People can then use the Pedulilindungi app and the QR code for entry into various public places, such as malls and others,” he said.

According to Setiaji, the color, layout, and visuals of the COVID-19 vaccination certificate issued overseas would be different from those released in Indonesia.
