TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Coordinating Minister of Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan on Monday stated that Covid-19 mitigation field management and strategies are intentionally made adaptable to dynamic challenges presented by the pandemic.

He gave an example about loosening the public activity restriction (PPKM) that is changed on a weekly basis depending on the latest updates.

“Maybe this changeable policymaking is interpreted to be inconsistent policies. But this is required to find the best combination between health and public economic interests,” said the Coordinating Minister on September 13.

The PPKM has been extended from September 14 to September 20 and introduced a number of adjustments and restrictions, the latest is the reopening of movie theaters under 50 percent capacity in regions with Level 3 and 2 PPKM.

The government will also start to further restrict international travel requirements, mainly foreign visitors who are required to be vaccinated with complete doses, tested three times under PCR, and must be guaranteed for 8 days.

He maintains that the dynamic nature of the pubic restrictions counterbalances the mutating Covid-19 virus amidst a global pandemic.
