TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Jakarta provincial government recorded 430 new positive Covid-19 cases today, September 2. The Health Agency Head of the Disease Prevention and Control Division, Dwi Oktavia, explained the new infections were obtained from the results of PCR swab tests on 19,260 specimens.

“From the number of tests, 11,941 people were today tested to diagnose new cases, resulting in 430 positive and 11,511 negative,” she said in a written statement on Thursday, September 2.

Dwi added that the city also conducted antigen tests on 14,736 people. Of which, 227 people tested positive and 14,509 were negative.

Today's active cases, however, dropped by 417. Thus, the total number of patients who were still being treated or undergoing isolation amounted to 6,244.

Jakarta has thus far recorded 851,686 confirmed cases, with 832,130 recoveries and 13,312 deaths. The city’s recovery rate was 97.7 percent, while the mortality rate was 1.6 percent.

Dwi went on to outline that the Jakarta Covid-19 positivity rate in the past week reached 4.3 percent. “While the total rate was 14.7 percent,” she said. The World Health Organization (WHO) has set the recommended standard at less than five percent.
