TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The number of Covid-19 cases in the world continues to fluctuate. Several countries have recorded an increased number of cases, including Australia, with total active cases of 19,000 per August 31, as stated on Health.gov.au. Meanwhile, the number of Indonesian citizens with Covid-19 cases in Australia is recorded to be 12 cases, said Indonesian Foreign Affairs Ministry on its official website kemlu.go.id.

According to the data from the Australian Government Department of Health website, New South Wales recorded as the state with the highest active cases of 17,999 cases. Citing from theguardian.com, New South Wales is under stay-at-home restrictions until September 10.

In order to support businesses and people across the state impacted by the Covid-19 restriction, the New South Wales Government provides financial assistance to support businesses and people across the state impacted by the Covid-19 restrictions.

A winemaker Matt Burton, who stated that he had an 80 percent drop-off in revenue, applied for the government support through Service NSW. "I have been paid the small business hardship grant, which was AU$7,500. The JobSaver application is still under review, which is the big one — it's 40 percent of our payroll," said Burton as reported by abc.net.au.

Meanwhile, Saifurrahman, an Indonesian business owner in Sydney, said that he also had to close his alteration shop which greatly impacted him and his employees. Even so, he received financial assistance from the New South Wales state government. “As a businessman I got a AU$15,000 grant, one off payment, this money to help pay business rent, bills, staff, etc. There's [also] a business income replacement allowance during lock down, from July 18 to September 30, AU$1,500 per week for small businesses like my shop. The value can be AU$10,000 or more per week for large scale business,” Saifurrahman told Tempo on August 31.
