TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Education, Cultural, Research, and Technology Minister Nadiem Makarim on Tuesday has officially disbanded the National Education Standards Agency (BSNP), which was officially announced by one of the agency’s members Abdul Mu’ti.

Abdul confirmed the disbandment in one of his Tweets that showed a virtual meeting that was accompanied by the caption that reads:

“The last and final meeting of the National Education Standards Agency. As of August 31 BSNP activities have been halted as it has been disbanded by the government,” he wrote on August 31.

The government’s move is mentioned under the education ministry’s regulation No.28/2021 on Organizations and Education, Cultural, Research, and Technology Ministry management. The regulation’s Article No.334 mentions that the validity of the regulation means the BSNP is declared invalid under the Education Ministry Regulation No.39/2019.

Tempo obtained permission from Abdul, who is also Muhammadiyah secretary general, to quote his tweet.
