TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta provincial government is preparing social assistance for orphans whose parents died of Coronavirus disease or Covid-19. "The target age for the recipients is 0-21 years old," said a Jakarta Secretariat official Uus Kuswanto in a written statement on Saturday, August 28.

The capital city government will provide orphanage for children who have no guardian to take care of them. The facility could be from the government or private parties.

The assistance for the orphans would be given in the form of educational or other social supports. The sources would be from Jakarta Administration and the collaborators.

Jakarta Government is collecting data of the children that are potential to receive the social assistance. Currently, there are some 4,000 potential targets.

"We want to make sure that the social support will be right on target." So, the data verification of the orphans must be done carefully, but also quick in the implementation.
