TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - City street checkpoints along with the STRP permits required under the public activity restriction (PPKM Level 4) will remain valid after President Joko Widodo announced that the public restriction policy would be extended until August 9.
“Checkpoints will still be there and we will refer to STRP permits for essential and critical office sector workers,” said the Metro Jaya Police traffic director, commissioner Sambodo Purnomo Yogo on Tuesday, August 3.
In an attempt to reduce mobility and cut the potential chain of Covid-19 transmission, only people with STRP permits are allowed to pass the checkpoints along with emergency service workers and people traveling to seek medication.
The PPKM Level 4 is extended for another week as health authorities continue to monitor the development of the Covid-19 situation. President Joko Widodo on Monday said that the distribution of government aid will be accelerated to help people survive.
