Indonesia Daily COVID-19 Deaths Reach New High of 1,566

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia has logged record daily COVID-19 deaths as the COVID-19 Task Force reported that 1,566 people died of the coronavirus in the last 24 hours on Friday, July 23, 2021.

The figure has increased the country’s death toll to 80,598 throughout the pandemic. The second-highest daily death number was confirmed on July 22, 2021, with 1,449 people.

The SARS-CoV-2 transmission remains a concern to date, as the task force recorded 49,071 new positive cases over the past 24 hours. With the addition, the country’s total number of infections reached 3,082,410.

The task force’s data also showed that 38,988 patients had been declared recovered from the disease. Thus, the total number of recoveries hit 2,431,911.
