TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - People’s mobility in a number of public areas has decreased significantly during the implementation of the Emergency PPKM, since July 3, 2021. From Google Mobility data as of July 9, 2021, the highest decline in the rate of movement appears in public transportation hubs.
From this data set, the national mobility trend for public transportation such as KRL, bus terminals, and train stations fell by 48 percent. The trend of mobility in the workplace also recorded a fall of 32 percent.
Other locations that also showed a decline in human movement activity occurred in retail and recreational locations, which fell 20 percent. Mobility in parks also fell 23 percent.
It was noted that the highest increase in mobility occurred in residential areas, which rose by 15 percent. In addition, movements in grocery stores and pharmacies also rose by 11 percent.
Jakarta and Yogyakarta Special Region were recorded as the areas with the highest decline in activity. Mobility at work in Jakarta fell by 50 percent, while in Yogyakarta, it fell by 40 percent.
Meanwhile, the highest mobility in public transportation was recorded in Yogyakarta with a decline of up to 68 percent. In Jakarta, the decline reached 58 percent.
This data is collected by Google by calculating these changes using aggregated and anonymized data types. Same as the type of data used to display favorite hours for places on Google Maps.
