State Revenue Grows 9.3 Percent YoY, Says Sri Mulyani

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati in a statement on Monday said Indonesia’s state revenue realized up until the end of May reached Rp726.4 trillion or 41.7 percent from the total State Budget goal. This is a 9.3 percent year-on-year increase.
“It’s a far increase compared to the same period last year, which contracted 9.0 percent (yoy),” said Sri Mulyani on June 21.
The tax revenue, she said, reached Rp459.6 trillion or 37.4 percent of the total State Budget goal of 2021 which is a 3.4 percent increase year-on-year. The good performance of this is closely linked to the Covid-19 pandemic that has not completely recovered, added with the fiscal incentives that the government continues to provide for businesses.
The economic activity recovery during the Islamic holiday Eid al-Fitr in May also caused positive growth across a majority of types of taxes.
Apart from the state revenue growth, the economic recovery phase is reflected in the sectoral tax revenue which aligns with the growth business expectations (PMI) and consumers (IKK), especially after the Eid allowance (THR) was distributed, and the growing imports and domestic demands.
