BMKG Weather Warning Forecasts Storm Over Indonesian Regions

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) on Monday warned about the potential of strong storm chances over a number of Indonesian provinces on June 21, which in the agency’s early weather warning announcement says will likely include Aceh, Bali, Bengkuli, Jakarta, Gorontalo, West Java, and East Java.

The agency also listed the entire Kalimantan and Sulawesi provinces, Lampung, Maluku, and West Papua as provinces that would possibly experience the storm.

The Madden-julian Oscillation (MJO), according to the BMKG, wis expected to take place over the southwest of Lampung, SUnda Strait, Java Sea, Jakarta, the Java-East Nusa Tenggara sea, the Central and Southern Kalimantan coastline, and Flores Sea.

The BMKG weather warning will also affect areas where the convergence zone happens will also extend from the West Aceh sea, Malacca Strait, Bali and East Java, Central Kalimantan, North Kalimantan, Southeast Sulawesi, North Sulawesi, Cenderawasih Bay, and West Papua.
