TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - State-owned Enterprises Minister (SOEs) Erick Thohir reported on Thursday, June 3, 2021, that a number of SOEs have felt the pressure caused by the Covid-19 pandemic as SOEs recorded a net profit of IDR 28 trillion in 2020, compared to IDR 124 trillion in 2019.
"We see this since the initial consolidation because it hasn't been audited, it clearly shows that the pandemic has greatly affected SOEs," said Erick Thohir in a meeting with House Commission VI members on Thursday, June 3, 2021. "The consolidation this year might only record IDR 28 trillion," Erick said.
The drop in net profit is due to SOEs revenue nosedived, which Thohir believes will drop to IDR 1,200 trillion this year compared to the IDR 1,600 trillion recorded in 2019. He noted that state enterprises in the field of transportation were the ones hit hardest by the pandemic.
In the meeting, Minister Erick Thohir announced that the SOEs financial performance will be visible in the Ministerial consolidation book that is planned to be published soon that enables the ministry to integrate the database among state-owned enterprises and view the issues that the SOEs are experiencing.
