TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Palestinian Ambassador to Indonesia Zuhair Al Shun on Tuesday expressed his gratitude for the support shown by Indonesians for the Palestinian cause and aid for the construction of the Indonesia Hebron hospital. “On behalf of Palestinians and the Palestinian government, we would like to say our best regards for all support and motivation for Palestine’s independence. Thank you, Indonesian people,” Al Shun said while receiving aid for the construction of the Indonesia Hebron hospital at the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) here.
The Hebron hospital will help and make Palestinians happy, he said. Support and motivation given by people around the world will fuel the spirit of Palestinians to fight for their independence, he added.
Palestinians will never leave their homeland and will struggle to reclaim the rights they are supposed to enjoy, he stressed.
“The news spread in the social media about what happened in Gaza, Jerusalem, and other regions; we are Palestinians (and we) announce and emphasize that we will not leave Palestinian land. We will relentlessly fight for Palestine’s independence,” he remarked.
The Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) provided humanitarian aid worth Rp19.3 billion to Al Shun for the construction of the Indonesia Hebron hospital (RSIH) in Palestine.
Earlier, on Monday (May 24, 2021),prominent preacher Ustadz Adi Hidayat also handed over humanitarian aid worth Rp14.3 billion collected from Indonesians to Palestine through the MUI. The aid will be utilized for the construction of the hospital.
After the first stage of the symbolic handover, the MUI and the hospital construction crew will continue to organize fund-raising activities and gradually release the funds collected to Palestine.
