TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The private Covid-19 vaccination program dubbed Gotong Royong in Jakarta will be fully managed by each corporation, confirmed Ngabila Salama as the city’s Head of Immunization Division of the Regional Health Office. The vaccine availability and administration, she added, are the responsibility of the company.

As the organizer, corporations must provide the vaccine up to the vaccinators. “To be clear, all things are managed independently [by companies], starting from providing the consumables materials, purchasing the vaccine, until hiring vaccinators,” said Ngabila on Wednesday, May 19, 2021.

Ngabila claimed her side did not know exactly how many companies have signed up for the vaccination program under the mutual cooperation scheme. She said corporations interested in this program will be listed through the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin).

The city’s Health Office, she explained, played a role in checking the feasibility of health facilities, managing data on the logistics distribution, up to monitoring the vaccine side effects or adverse events following immunization. “So we do not list data about which companies [joining the program].”

Ngabila mentioned that nine health facilities across the capital would be ready to accommodate the private vaccination. However, she stopped short of detailing the locations given that the preparation is still ongoing.

The Gotong Royong Covid-19 vaccination kicked off on Tuesday, May 18, for workers in Jababeka Industrial Area, Cikarang, Bekasi. Based on the Health Ministry’s Decree No.HK 01.07/Menkes/4643/2021, the vaccine price was set at Rp879,140 per person for two injections.
