TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo, Malaysian Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and Brunei’s Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah, have released a joint statement condemning the "blatant violations and aggressions carried out by Israelis, targeting civilians throughout the occupied Palestinian territory of East Jerusalem and the Gaza Strip."

The first paragraph in the joint statement uploaded by Jokowi onto his twitter account on Sunday evening underlined the illegal expansion of settlements and demolitions and seizure of Palestinian structures across the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem.

The three nations also condemn the violations of international laws that they said Israel has blatantly violated. They therefore called for an “urgent and responsible collective action to ensure the necessary accountability for such violations.”

“We call upon all parties to exercise maximum restraint, cease attacks against civilians, take steps in de-escalating the situation and to uphold international law and order,” the statement wrote.

The United Nations Security Council has been called on to take urgent actions for Palestinian civilians across the occupied territory. The complete statement is as follows:
