TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian Covid-19 task force announced on April 25 updated the risk zone map and recorded an increase in areas considered red zones (high risk) and yellow zones of coronavirus transmission.

The red zones had grown more than three-fold from the previous six to 19 regencies and cities. The orange zones also increased from 322 to 340; yellow zones reduced from 177 to 146; while green zones remained the same with 8 regencies and cities recording zero new cases.

Surprisingly, there is one area that had not been affected by the Covid-19 transmission.

The task force spokesperson Wiku Adisasmito called for local administrations to anticipate the developments of the risk zone map, especially ahead of the Eid al Fitr holidays.

“We should always attempt to reduce the number of red and orange zones,” said Wiku in a press statement on April 27.

Regions that had been classified as new additions in the red zone are Aceh, West Sumatra, Riau, Jambi, North Sumatra, South Sumatra, Bangka Belitung, Bali, and South Kalimantan.
