TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Deputy Minister of Health stated in a press conference on Thursday, March 25, 2021, that there have been six million Indonesians vaccinated for Covid-19 in the first phase. Three million of them have already received their second vaccine shots.

Deputy Minister of Health Dante Saksono Harbuwono, said in the press conference that "9 million vaccines were rolled out in the vaccination movement to this day," said Harbuwono on Thursday, March 25, 2021.

The Covid-19 handling task force recorded that 5,978,251 people have been vaccinated in the first phase of vaccination while 2,709,545 people have received their second vaccine shots, which mostly consist of healthcare workers who were prioritized in the inaugural vaccination program.

Dante claimed that the government has achieved 100 percent vaccination coverage for healthcare workers. The deputy minister said that after an evaluation, they found a drop in the number of cases where healthcare workers were exposed to Covid-19. Dante also said that there has been a drop in the number of active cases in Indonesia.

Dante claimed that the hospital bed occupancy ratio for coronavirus cases has also dropped. Dante however, did not provide more detailed information.
