TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Chinese government is implementing a new border policy. Foreign tourists are allowed entry if they are willing to be injected with the Chinese Covid-19 vaccine.

The announcement was made to foreigner applying for visas at Chinese representative offices or embassies in various countries.

If travelers can show certificates that they have been taken vaccines made by China, their visa application will be processed. If not, the visa application will be reviewed or rejected immediately.

To date, there are several vaccines made in China that have been used in a number of countries, namely Sinovac Biotech (Sinovac), China National Biotec Group (Sinopharm), and CanSino.

The announcement of mandatory vaccination using Chinese Covid-19 vaccine have been applied in 20 countries, including Hong Kong, the United States, Britain, India, Australia, Iraq, Thailand, Croatia, Israel, Pakistan and the Philippines.

Since the coronavirus pandemic began, the Chinese government has restricted border traffic. Only travels diplomatic, trade, humanitarian activities and emergency purposes are allowed.
