TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Financial Services Authority (OJK) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Monetary Authority of Brunei Darussalam (AMBD). The OJK also extended its partnership with the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).

"The signing of the two MoUs is one of OJK's efforts to strengthen cooperation between financial authorities in Southeast Asia, especially in accelerating the implementation of Sustainable Finance principles in Indonesia," OJK deputy commissioner for PR and logistics, Anto Prabowo, said in a written statement, Thursday, March 11.

The MoU on Consultation, Cooperation, and the Exchange of Information with AMBD was signed early this year by OJK chief Wimboh Santoso and AMDB managing director Rokiah Badar. The cooperation scope includes capacity increase; information and best practices exchange; monitoring and supervision of financial institutions in Indonesia and Brunei; and cooperation in other in the financial sectors, both sharia and conventional.

It also includes collaborations in efforts to improving education, financial inclusivity, and consumer protection.

Wimboh signed another MoU with the OECD's secretary-general Angel Gurria in February. The continuation of this collaboration is focused on development in the field of Sustainable Finance, in the form of research and/or studies; exchange of information and/or expertise; and other cooperation.

Indonesia and the OECD have also signed a Framework of Cooperation Agreement. In recent years, cooperation between the OECD and Indonesia for developing and financing for sustainable development has grown rapidly.
