TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin on Tuesday assured that the government has distributed the January and February incentives for healthcare workers working at the front line of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Sadikin’s announcement was a response to questions about reports suggesting that 700 private hospitals have not received their share of healthcare workers' incentives. He explained that the money had been paid to local administrations.

"The incentives have been distributed for January and February," said the Health Minister at the Lippo Puri Mall on March 9. "As for the cases of unpaid incentives, the payment was made to regional administrations last year."

Meanwhile, the November and December incentives have been distributed to hospitals.

Previously, Bisnis.com reported that private hospitals under the Indonesian Private Hospital Association (ARSSI) were late to distribute government incentives for healthcare workers for the past months. ARSSI secretary, Ichsan Hanafi, said 700 private hospitals that directly handle Covid-19 cases are dealing with the late disbursement of the incentive.
