TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Deputy Governor Riza Patria stated that the city administration had given a total of 174,918 shots of the Covid-19 vaccine.

“The total number is for phase one and phase two. In detail, there are 107,459 shots given in the first stage and 67,223 shots given in the second stage,” Riza said as quoted by Antara on Wednesday, February 24.

Hundreds of thousands of the vaccine have been given to health workers, traders of Tanah Abang Market, and elderly people.

Riza claimed that during the inoculation to the three groups, the city administration neither received reports nor complaints related to the post-immunization event.

“Hopefully the national vaccination program launched by Pak President Jokowi can immediately give us confidence that we can reduce and tackle Covid-19 in Indonesia,” said Riza.

As reported previously, the city administration kicked off the second phase of Covid-19 vaccination on February 17, 2021, targeting elderly people and public servants. For the initial program, the vaccine was given to 10,000 traders of Tanah Abang Market.

The Covid-19 vaccination in Jakarta would be carried out in stages, depending on the availability of doses distributed by the central government.
